Wow, I've put off doing this post. Not sure if it's because with the new Internet it takes FOREVER to upload pictures or because February was such a heavy heavy month.
We'll start with a light note - this goofy little man I know :)
I came down stairs one morning to Kason getting his own breakfast. Want a little toast with that butter dude?
Kaid went to a little cheer camp at school. The girls were so cute to watch during halftime of the game. For as reserved as Kaid can be I am still amazed every time she gets out there because she doesn't hesitate. I love it!
I didn't get a chance before Christmas break to do the teacher gifts. With my work schedule and with being sick there just was no way! So they got a little gift when break was over. I think they turned out adorable!
One of the heavy moments of the month... A dear friend from work lost her husband to cancer. Their journey started and ended within 4 months of his diagnosis. Please keep her in your prayers as she learns to live life without him. Such wonderful wonderful people. He worked at Kaid's school and she wrote the board a letter when the teachers wanted to donate sick time and were told no. So much of the community showed up to plead with them to change their minds. Not long after he went to be with the Lord - he is now healed!
On Groundhogs day we all packed up to go back home to visit grandma on her 86th Birthday. She didn't know any of us, won't remember we were there, but we will. And I'd like to think we brought a little bit of joy to her day. She was awake and alert the entire time but you could tell she was very tired when we were leaving. We love you grandma and glad we could spend this day with you.

It was so good to see my cousin Karissa and her two boys (boy #3 will arrive soon!) They live across the country so it's been a while since we saw these two little ones last!

The adults visiting
Valentines day this year was so hard to celebrate. One of my best friends since I was six had tragedy hit their home as her step-dad died. Such an unexpected thing and when they hurt, we hurt. As my second home in high school, he will be greatly missed by myself, my parents and other best girls. His wife is so strong and will make it through this, but life just won't ever be the same without him by her side. Every year since we graduated we have all (girls, our kids and husbands and our parents) had a Christmas get-together. We skipped this year as they had just moved and planned on doing it this summer instead. Hind sight, it would have been wonderful to see him one last time and give him a big hug. We will always miss you Chris. Rest in Peace.
Despite the tears of the day and just wanting to be with my friend instead of in the moment I tried to make the day special for the kids. We had heart pizza complete with little heart shaped pepperoni - they thought it was the coolest!
Silly Kason was being goofy - not sure what he was "pretend pouting" for. My little Valentines.
Oh my little goofballs. Never a dull moment! Kaid has this new thing where she always has to have her pj pants tucked into her SOCKS. Don't know. Don't ask.
I love it when kids start drawing pictures. This is Kason's self portrait. I think he couldn't be cuter!
